Interior PhotographyWhen an interior designer completes a job he or she will probably never see the space they’ve created again. And it’s certainly not feasible to walk every prospect through every beautiful space in New York they’ve designed. This is why interior photography is so important. I believe that the experience of going through an interior designer’s portfolio should not only be informative but also be a pleasurable experience for potential clients, like going through a glossy interiors magazine. It’s not enough to just document the work. I like interior photography because it utilizes my favorite aspects of photography, composition and light. I also enjoy the collaboration with the interior designer. Because the majority of my clients have been with me for several years, a great working relationship has already been established long before I take the camera out of the bag. I not only know their work but I know them and what’s most important to them. I use a collaborative approach with interior photography preferring that my client is with me every step of the way. Because we shoot directly into a laptop, we can see the important details of the photograph immediately, everything from furniture placement to that throw pillow way off in the background that’s not behaving. I'm not just the photographer. I'm an intregal part of their marketing team. In essence my job is to make their work shine so they can attract new clients and grow their business. space space space |
